Derince

Derince was named after a place with the deepest coast in the Gulf of Izmit that was searched for the establishment of a port in 1890 and it was called "Derince Port" due to its depth.

Derince is famous for its Çenesuyu. Çenesuyu is a historical and healing water that became the subject of poets' lines with its taste in the 1860s and its name became synonymous with Izmit.

Derince is an indispensable place for children and families with Wonderland Beach, inspired by fairy tale heroes, and the Çınarlıdere Recreation Area, which resembles a hidden paradise with its plane and fruit trees, the stream running through it, and the chirping of birds.
