The outer perimeter walls and minaret of the mosque, which was built by the Architect Sinan by Defterdar Abdüsselam in 1524, bear the characteristics of the period when it was first established. Since the dome of the building was damaged in the 1776 earthquake, it was repaired with a roof in 1872.
