Also known as the Redif Office, the museum has a second-Empire-style semi-masonry barracks-type structure and its ceiling engraving decorations are among its important features. This military structure, which was built by Sultan Abdulaziz for the redif officers in the last period of the Ottoman Empire, was used as a military court and was damaged in the 1999 earthquake. After the restoration, it was opened to visitors and took its place among the Kocaeli museums.
It is possible to visit with the Museum Card.
