The historical and spiritual value of the cave, which is located on Babalı Beach and has a depth of about 6-7 meters from its mouth, is quite high. It is estimated that Ahbaz and Circassians, who survived the sinking of the ships, took shelter in the Ottoman-Russian wars that took place in 1877-1878. Inside the cave, there is a 4-line inscription in Ottoman Turkish dating back to 1324 AH. A commemoration event for Circassians is organized every year in the region on May 21.
