Click for directionsFounded in 1843, Hereke Factory started its production life in 1845 under the name Hereke Fabrika-i Hümâyûnu to meet the upholstery and drapery needs of the palaces that are being built. In the Hereke Factory, which is known as the most comprehensive factory established by the Ottoman Empire in the field of silk weaving, Sultan II. With the instruction of Abdülhamid, first, the pattern samples given by the palace were woven, and these patterns were developed over time, creating a unique Hereke pattern and laying the foundations of the world-famous Hereke brand.
