It was built in the 1560s by Mehmet Bey, the founder of the Mehmet Bey Mosque, which was called the Fevziye Mosque, with the aim of generating income for the mosque. It is thought that the bath was built by Mimar Sinan or his apprentices since its plan resembles the Pertev Pasha Bath.
