The mansion was built in 1884 in the Eskihisar Village of the Gebze district, by the museum and painter Osman Hamdi Bey, with its painting house, boathouse, and outbuildings. The plans of the building, which have French architectural features, belong to Osman Hamdi Bey. It is known that Osman Hamdi Bey spent his summers here and painted many of his famous works here. In addition to his works, he dedicated his life to the wooden doors on the ground floor of the building with his flower paintings.
