Sütlü Nuriye is a dessert originating from Spice Road. The dessert, which is thought to have come to Kocaeli via the port of Izmit, has gained a new shape by developing the method of rolling the pastry dough in the form of thin paper. According to the rumor, the dessert, which a woman named Nuriye helped to get a new taste by wrapping the dough in the form of paper/leaf and adding milk, took the name "Nuriye with Milk" in this region.
